The Model LPC from Precision Transducers is a truly universal low-profile load cell. This compact device is perfect for a huge range of both compression and tension force measurement tasks, ranging from materials testing to overhead weighing in cranes and the like to weighing of hoppers, silos and tanks.
Available in seven different capacities from 1 to 100 tonnes, the Model LPC is highly tolerant of off-centre loading, and can be supplied with a wide range of accessories to enable simplified design and fitting in each specific compression or tension measurement application. These include load buttons, load sockets, tension bases, rod ends and complete mounting sets.
Manufactured from tool steel, and with a corrosion-resistant electroless nickel finish, the Model LPC is fully environmentally sealed to IP67 as standard and supplied with a captive screened six-core cable up to 10 metres in length.
The low-profile pancake design is easy to integrate in even the smallest space: devices up to 5 tonnes capacity are a compact 105mm diameter with a height of just 35mm, and even the largest 100-tonne rated load cells measure only 280mm by 90mm.
With an impressive accuracy of 0.05% of full scale, the Model LPC offers fully compensated operation over a wide -10 to +50C range, with an overall operating temperature range from -30 to +70C.
The rugged construction of the load cell enables safe operation up to 150% of rated load, and 300% overload can be tolerated without damage.
