Ideal for obtaining data from load cells in remote and vehicle-mounted applications, the Type 310 portable load cell indicator combines an easy-to-read 2-line by 20-character LCD with all the electronics required to interact with all conventional load cells.
Housed in a rugged 220 x 100 x 35mm handheld enclosure with rechargeable NiMH batteries capable of providing 12 hours of normal use per charge, the Type 310 is compatible with any full-bridge load cell with a bridge resistance between 120 and 1200ohm.
The indicator provides 5V DC for load cell excitation, and can hold calibration data for up to 10 different load cells, making it an ideal tool for mobile metrology. Readings are displayed with 10,000-count resolution and a linearity of 1:6000. Both a tare mode and peak hold facility are provided.
The indicator comes with free Windows software that can be used to log and display load cell readings on a PC via the inbuilt RS232 serial port, and can also be used to simplify the calibration of the device. However, this doesn’t compromise the portability of the Type 310 load indicator as the unit can be calibrated in the field using its own keypad and display, which guide the operator through the process with a series of soft menus.
Manufactured by Datum Electronics, and available in the UK from Sensor-Technik, the Type 310 handheld load cell indicator comes as a complete package comprising the indicator, rechargeable battery, universal 110-230V AC mains charger and all software. Optional extras include a leather style carrying case.
